Mixing humor and energy in every performance, a Home Grown Tomatoes show is an organic music mix of life in Iowa.
The songs are presented in a fun, family friendly program with a selection of original and unique songs designed to meet the specific needs of each event and audience.
The band's goal is to have everyone with a smile on their face, a song in their head they can't get rid of, and thinking of a fond memory of life in Iowa. Their performance is a mixture of American Gothic yearning, mid-western practicality, and stubborn romanticism mixed with humor and terminal sensibility.
About the Performers:
 Bill Melton - is a 5th generation musician singer-songwriter. He is on the roster of the Des Moines Metro Arts as well as the touring roster of the Iowa Arts Council. He plays guitar, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, banjo, and bass. He has a CD out of original songs inspired by life in Iowa called "All I Can Say".
- Steffen Heins- is also a singer-songwriter, who has been playing guitar and performing original songs for over 10 years. He is on roster of the Iowa Arts Council and has a CD out of original songs entitled "Jenni Rain".
- Joel Kinser-
brings a quick wit, a solid bass line and killer harmonies
to the band. He is also an accomplished singer & guitar player.
